Stony Stratford Community Church FAQs

Have a question about our services? Then check out the following frequently asked questions.

Q:      Where do I park?
A: There is no parking allowed on Horsefair Green. Parking is available in Cofferidge Close car park or surrounding roads where permitted.

Q: What should I wear?
A: Jeans, shorts, casuals, suit – anything that makes you feel comfortable.

Q: Where should I sit?
A: Anywhere you like – occasionally seats are reserved for special services (these are marked by a sign on each reserved seat). We can easily make space for wheel chair users.

Q: Who will I meet?
A: Approx. 170 people of all ages regularly attend our church. We are a friendly church so expect someone to say hello. Tea and coffee are served in the church hall between the morning services.

Q: How long will the service last?
A: Approximately 75-90 minutes.

Q: What facilities are available for children and babies?
A: Crèche facilities are available at our second morning service. We also have our Children’s group, Noah’s Ark, and our youth activity ‘Revived’ during the second service. If your children or babies want to stay in throughout the service that’s fine but we would ask that if they become unsettled please feel free to take them out to either Crèche or Noah’s Ark.

Q: Is there a money collection?
A: Yes there is a collection although many regular attendees give by bank standing order. If you have not come prepared for this, don’t worry; just pass the bag on to the next person. On the fourth and fifth Sunday mornings and second Sunday evening, after communion there is an additional offering for Family Fund, which seeks to help people in the church community who are in need.

Q: What other facilities are available?
A: We have a hearing aid loop, large print notice sheets, wheel chair access and disabled toilet facilities. Just ask one of the welcome team on the door if you require more information.

Q: What is Communion?
A: Generally on the 2nd Sunday evening and the 4th Sunday morning of each month, the services include Communion. In these services, bread and wine (non-alcoholic) are served to remember Jesus’ death and the debt he paid for us.

Q: Should I take Communion?
A: The bread and wine are available to all who believe Jesus to be their Saviour (it doesn’t matter what other church you might normally attend). If you don’t believe or are unsure, just let the bread and wine pass you by.

Q: I’d like to get baptised - what should I do?
A: If you are interested in being baptised, please speak to our Senior Minister, Jacqui Green or our Associate Minister, Ross Dilnot, who will arrange a convenient time to chat with you.  Baptism services are arranged as and when required.

Q: I am interested in becoming a member of the church - what should I do?
A: If you are interested in becoming a member of Stony Stratford Community Church, please speak to our Senior Minister, Jacqui Green or our Associate Minister, Ross Dilnot, who will arrange a convenient time to chat with you more about this.
