Jo Pitts | Accessibility Coordinator

Jo has been the accessibility coordinator at SSCC since 2023.

‘I was very pleased to be asked to take on this new role, as I believe everyone should feel that they are an important part of our church community regardless of their needs. I enjoy helping to raise awareness and understanding of accessibility as we continue to work towards making our church as accessible and welcoming as possible.’ 

Jo invited Jesus into her life as a young child and is so grateful for the many people over the years who have helped her faith to grow. She and her family joined SSCC in 1989 when they moved to Stony Stratford. She has been part of several teams within the church, including the Children’s team.  

Jo is married to Chris - their family includes 3 adult sons, a daughter-in-law and 2 grandchildren. She retired in 2023 after working for more than 40 years in the NHS as a Physiotherapist. In her spare time, she enjoys walking in the countryside, sewing, spending time with her grandchildren, cooking, and gardening when the weather is fine!
